Establishment of Business Women Committee
The proposal to establish GCCI Business Women Committee was mooted by Shri. Nalin. K. Patel, immediate Past President of our chamber. |
| First Chairperson and Co-Chairperson :- |
Smt. Nandiniben P. Munshaw, and Smt. Arunshatiben Balkrishna Chairperson and Co-chairperson of the Ladies Wing.
The Business Women Committee was inaugurated on the 20th July 1985 by Smt. Sobha Nehru, wife of Shri B.K. Nehru, the then Governor of Gujarat. Since inception, the Committee has organized various seminars, workshops and programmes focusing on various areas of development for women and their empowerment in the current era of cut-throat competition. The Business Women Committee has made active efforts for bringing women into the mainstream of development of the economy and helped lady entrepreneurs in their endeavor. |

| Objectives Of Business Women Committee |
| Underlying objective behind the creation of Business Women Committee is to harness their enterprises and energies in the process of socio economic development in the country, create and skill, to encourage and induce them to contribute their mite for the development of trade, industries and profession to help them, resolve their economic problems and to protect and promote their interest. Thus basic idea is to provide and opportunity to women engaged in trade and industry and profession etc. together to gather on a common platform and inspire self confidence, efficiency and unity among them. |
